Introduction


 

Luking Library, founded in 1953, was named in 1965 in honor of Mother Marie Gratia Luking, foundress of Providence University.


The goal of the Luking Library is to collect, organize and preserve library materials in print and electronic formats to serve the professional and educational needs of the faculty. The Library is also committed to stimulating students' interests of reading and to improving their information literacy. Furthermore, to support faculty and students at all academic levels, the Library is dedicated to providing excellent and convenient digital access to our holdings.
 

In God's Providence, Luking Library has grown to a ten-story (21930 M) building and well-equipped modern library of today. Library Departments and Centers include Acquisitions, Cataloging, Reference Services, Periodicals, Collections and Circulation, Systems Audio-Visual Center and Art Center.
